Let \(G\) be a connected reductive algebraic group, \(\theta\) an involutive automorphism of \(G\) and \(K = G^{\theta}\) the subgroup of fixed points of \(\theta\) in G. In this paper \(K\) is assumed connected ( this assumption holds if \(G\) is simply connected). Let \(\mathfrak{X} = K/B_{K} \times G/P\) be a double flag variety, where \(B_{K}\) is a Borel subgroup of \(K\) and \(P\) is a parabolic subgroup of \(G\) and assume that \(\mathfrak{X}\) is of finite type, that is there are finitely many orbits with respect to the diagonal \(K\) action on \(\mathfrak{X}\). A general argument shows that the orbit space \(\mathbb{C}\mathfrak{X}/K\) inherits a natural action of the Hecke algebra \(\mathcal{H}=\mathcal{H}(K,B_{K})\) of double cosets via convolutions. In the paper under review the authors determine, for the double flag variety of type \(\mathsf{AIII}\), the explicit action of \(\mathcal{H}\) on \(\mathbb{C}\mathfrak{X}/K\) in a combinatorial way. As a by-product, they get a description of the representation of the Weyl group on \(\mathbb{C}\mathfrak{X}/K\) as a direct sum of induced representations.
