The authors study a multi-phase mean curvature flow with properties characterizing a Brakke flow. It is formed by a one-parameter family of varifolds \(\{V_t\}_{t\ge 0}\) in an open set \(U\subset \mathbb{R}^{n+1}\). They verify a theorem about the relations between the Radon measure \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\times \mathbb{R}^+\) given by \(d\mu = d\|V_t\|\,dt\) and the Brakke flow \(\{V_t\}_{t\ge 0}\). Among other results, the most important ones are the validity of an identity concerning the change of volumes of evolving grains and showing that their boundaries move to the generalized mean curvature vector of the Brakke flow.
