A system of coupled chemotaxis and hydrodynamics equations is considered as a model for aerobic bacteria in a fluid. The important features are: logarithmic sensitivity function and a rather general consumption term. In the particular case of fluid free data, suitable generalized global-in-time solutions are shown to exist with the initial data of arbitrary size. In the two space dimensions, the eventual smoothness of solutions is shown. Moreover, classical solutions exist for small initial data.
