Hecke symmetries are a basic kind of Yang-Baxter operators subjecting to the quadratic Hecke relation, and they are deeply involved in the theory of Hopf algebras and especially quantum groups. So far the classification of Hecke symmetries is still a highly nontrivial problem for which only special cases in low dimensions are known. In the paper, the author derives a general formula for all Hecke symmetries \(R\) on a vector space \(V\) with the \(R\)-symmetric algebra \(\mathbb S(V,R)\) being the polynomial algebra in \(3\) commuting indeterminates. Denote by \(\mathrm{HeckeSym}_0(V)\) the set consisting of such Hecke symmetries. Then any \(R\in\mathrm{HeckeSym}_0(V)\) is determined by a bivector and a symmetric bilinear form on a \(3\)-dimensional vector space. Also, the author describes the orbits in \(\mathrm{HeckeSym}_0(V)\) under the action of \(\mathrm{GL}(V)\).
