Let \(X\) be a smooth irreducible projective variety, and \(H\) a very ample line bundle on \(X\). A vector bundle \({\mathcal E}\) on \(X\) is said to be \textit{Ulrich with respect to} \(H\) if the cohomology \(H^i(X,{\mathcal E}(-pH))\) vanishes for \(i \geq 0\) and \(1 \leq p \leq \dim X\). A main question on Ulrich bundles is that of their existence: given \((X,H)\) (or just \(X\)) does there exist an Ulrich bundle (and a very ample line bundle \(H\)) on \(X\) with respect to \(H\)? The paper under review deals with the question of the existence of Ulrich bundles on the blow-up \(X_n\) of the complex projective plane at \(n\)-very general points, with respect to the line bundle \(\xi_{n,m}\) corresponding to curves of degree \(m\) passing through the \(n\) chosen points (\(m \leq 2 \sqrt{n}\), and \(\xi_{n,m}\) very ample). The main result, see Thm. 3.1 and Cor. 3.2, is the existence of several Ulrich line bundles on such surfaces for \(n \geq 3\) and \(m \geq 4\), and that, moreover, the number of these Ulrich bundles tends to infinity with \(n\). For \(7 \leq n \leq 10\) and \(m=4\), Ulrich line bundles on \(X_n\) with respect to \(\xi_{n,4}\) are classified (see Thm, 4.2). Furthermore, the authors prove the existence of slope-stable rank-\(r\) Ulrich vector bundles on \(X_n\), \(n\geq 2\), \(r \geq 1\), and compute the dimension of the corresponding moduli spaces, which are shown to be reduced (see Thm. 5.8). These results show, in particular, that \(X_n\) is \textit{Ulrich wild}, that is, posseses families of arbitrarily large dimension of pairwise non-isomorphic, indecomposable Ulrich bundles.
