The study of permutation polynomials of particular types is an active topic in the theory and applications of finite fields. The authors present in this paper are several constructions of permutation polynomials of \(\mathbb F_{p^{2m}}\) of the form \((x^{p^m}-x+\delta)^s+L(x)\), where \(L(x)\) is a \(p^m\)-polynomial over \(\mathbb F_{p^{2m}}\), and of the form \((x^{p^m}-x+\delta)^{s_1}+(x^{p^m}-x+\delta)^{s_2}+x\). More precisely, the following families are considered: \begin{itemize} \item \(p=2\), \(s=2^{m+1}+1\), \(L(x)=a_1x^{2^m}+a_2x\). \item \(p\) odd, \(s=p^{m+1}+1\), \(L(x)=a_1x^{p^m}+a_1^{p^m}x\). \item \(p\) odd, \(s=2p^m\), \(L(x)=x^{p^m}+x\). \item \(p\) odd, \(s=p^{m+1}+1\), \(L(x)=x\). \item \(p=2\), \((s_1,s_2)\) belongs to one of the following: \[ \{2^{m+1}+1,\, 2^m+2\}\times\{3\cdot 2^m+2,\, 2^{m+1}+3\}, \] \[ \{3\cdot2^{2m-2}+2^{m-2},\, 2^{2m-2}+3\cdot 2^{m-2}\}\times\{2^{2m-2}+2^{m-2}+1,\, 2^{2m-2}+2^m+2^{m-2}\}, \] \[ \{2^{m+1}+1,\, 2^m+2\}\times\{2^{2m-1}+2^{m+1}+2,\, 5\cdot 2^{m-1}+2\}, \] \[ \{3\cdot 2^m+2,\, 2^{m+1}+3\}\times\{2^{2m-1}+2^{m+1}+2,\, 5\cdot 2^{m-1}+2\}. \] \item \(s_1=l(p^m+1)+p^j\), \(s_2=l(p^m+1)+p^{m+j}\). \item \(p\) odd, \(s_1=i(p^m-1)+1\), \(s_2=j(p^m-1)+1\). \end{itemize} In each of these families, sufficient conditions on the parameters are given for the polynomial to be a permutation of \(\mathbb F_{p^{2m}}\). In most cases, the conditions are also shown to be necessary. The proofs are based on an approach which equates a permutation of \(\mathbb F_{p^{2m}}\) of the specified types to an associated permutation of the kernel of the trace from \(\mathbb F_{p^{2m}}\) to \(\mathbb F_{p^m}\). The paper contains two tables which summarize the known permutation polynomials of the two specified types.
