The main goal of this paper is to show that many beautiful geometrical and analytical results valid on differentiable manifolds hold on general metric spaces. Using families of curves to generalize vector fields, the Lie bracket is defined on a metric space \(M\). For \(M\) complete, it is shown that flows commute if and only if their bracket is zero. Local and global versions of Frobenius' foliation theorem are proven.
