The main result of the article is the following. Let \(V\) be a Stein variety and \(\gamma: V\rightarrow V\) an invertible holomorphic contraction centered at a point \(x\in V\) (i.e., \(\gamma(x)=x\) and, for each \(K\subseteq V\) compact and any open neighborhood \(x\in U\), one has \(\gamma^n(K)\subseteq U\) for all sufficiently large \(n\)). Assume \(\langle\gamma\rangle\) acts properly discontinuously on \(V\backslash\{x\}\). Then, the quotient variety \(\frac{V\backslash\{x\}}{\langle\gamma\rangle}\) is compact and admits an embedding into a linear Hopf manifold. Taking \(V=\mathbb C^n\), one obtains that any non-linear Hopf manifold admits an embedding into a linear Hopf manifold. In particular it admits an LCK metric with potential. The proof of the main result applies functional analytic techniques to the coordinate functions of an embedding \(V\subseteq \mathbb C^n\) to produce an equivariant embedding into a (larger) space \(\mathbb C^N\), arising as a certain space of holomorphic functions with a natural linear action by pullback.
