On non-compact gradient solitons (Q6161575)

On a given Riemannian manifold \((M^n, g)\) fix a symmetric \(2\)-tensor field \(q\). The generalized solitons studied here are called \(q\)-\textit{solitons} and are pairs \((X, \lambda \in \mathbb{R})\) such that \({\mathcal L}_Xg=2\lambda g+q\). The first main result deals with complete \(q\)-solitons when \(q\) is divergence-free and trace-free. The second main result deals with the gradient case \(X=\nabla f\) for a smooth function \(f\) satisfying \[\int _M|\nabla f|^{\frac{n}{n-1}}< \infty \] and with \(g\) having non-negative sectional curvature. Again \(q\) is supposed to be trace-free and the conclusion is that \(M\) is \(q\)-flat.
