In the paper under review, the author provides characterizations, in terms of sections or projections, for a convex body to be a polytope. For instance, it is proved that if \(K\) is a convex body in the \(d\)-dimensional Euclidean space (\(d\geq 3\)) and \(\{H_{\alpha}\}_{\alpha}\) is a set of \(k\)-dimensional affine spaces, \(2\leq k\leq d-1\), all of which intersect the interior of \(K\), and such that a) for any supporting line \(l\) of \(K\), there exists a plane \(H_{\alpha}\supset l\), and b) \(K\cap H_{\alpha}\) is a \(k\)-dimensional polytope for all \(\alpha\), then \(K\) is a polytope. The converse also holds. Furthermore, a dual result for visual cones is shown.
