Consider the Hamiltonian system \[ \dot{q} = {{\partial H}\over{\partial p}}\quad,\quad \dot{p} = - {{\partial H}\over{\partial q}} \] with \(H\) autonomous or \(2\pi\)-periodic and analytic in some neighborhood of the origin \[ H=\sum_1^{\infty} H_j\;,\;H_j = \sum_{|\mu|+|\nu|=j} h_{\mu\nu}q^{\mu}p^{\nu}\;,\;\mu=(\mu_1,\dots\mu_n) \in \mathbb{Z}^n\;,\;\nu=(\nu_1,\dots\nu_n)\in \mathbb{Z}^n\;, \] \[ |\mu|=\sum_1^n|\mu_i|\;,\;|\nu|=\sum_1^n|\nu_i|\;,\;h_{\mu\nu}=h_{\mu_1\dots\mu_n\nu_1\dots\nu_n}\;;\;q^{\mu}=q_1^{\mu_1}\dots q_n^{\mu_n}\;,\;p^{\nu}=p_1^{\nu_1}\dots p_n^{\nu_n} \] The main result of the paper is as follows Theorem. Assume the system has a single resonance with \(k=(k_1\dots k_n)\) the vector of resonance. (A) If there exist \(i,j\in\{1,\dots,n\}\), \(i\neq j\) such that \(k_ik_j<0\) then the null solution is Lie stable. (B) If \(k_1,\;k_2,\dots,k_n\geq 0\) or \(\leq 0\) and one of the coefficients \(A_{2j}\neq 0\) for some \(j=1,\dots, |k|-1\) but the function \(\psi_{|k|}(\phi)\neq 0\) for all \(\phi\), then again the null solution is Lie stable. (C) If \(k_1,\;k_2,\dots,k_n\geq 0\) or \(\leq 0\) and there exists \(\phi^*\) such that \(\psi_{|k|}(\phi^*)=0\) and \(\psi'_{|k|}(\phi^*)\neq 0\) then the null solution is unstable in the Lyapunov sense. The function \(\psi_{|k|}(\cdot)\) is defined by a finite algorithm throughout the paper, starting from system's coefficients.
