The author investigates a type of nonlinear heat equation with a quadratic trinomial source, which has been proposed for modeling of solar corona flares. By using the trial function method and applying Galaktionov's method, the author derives a sufficient condition on the initial function of the corresponding Cauchy problem ensuring that the solution is unbounded (i.e., does not exist globally). In addition, a family of exact solutions of the form \(p(t)+q(t)\cos\frac{x}{\sqrt{2}}\) is constructed, where the coefficients \(p(t), q(t)\) satisfy a first-order nonlinear dynamical system. Construction of exact solutions plays an important role in the investigation of nonlinear partial differential equations. Such solutions can be useful to prove localization and elucidate the asymptotic behavior of various unbounded solutions. A number of unboundedness conditions are obtained for the solutions of this family.
