The authors introduce the classes of Lorentz nuclear homogeneous polynomials as follows. Let \(E\) and \(F\) be Banach spaces, \(n\in {\mathbb N}\) and \(r,q,s,p\in]1,\infty[\) such that \(r\leq q\), \(s'\leq p'\) and \(1\leq 1/q+n/p'\). An \(n\)-homogeneous polynomial \(P:E\to F\) is Lorentz \(((r,q);(s,p))\)-nuclear if \[ P(x)=\sum_{j=1}^\infty \lambda_j (\varphi(x))^ny_j, \] with \((\lambda_j)_j\in \ell_{(r,q)}\), \((\varphi_j)_j\in \ell^w_{(s',p')}(E')\) and \((y_j)_j\in \ell_\infty (F)\), where \(\ell_\infty (F)\) denotes the vector space of bounded sequences in \(F\) with the sup norm, \(\ell_{(r,q)}(E)\) represents the Lorentz sequence space with its quasi-norm \(\|\cdot\|_{(r,q)}\) and \(\ell_{(s,p)}^w(E)\) is the space of all sequences \((x_j)_j\) in \(E\) such that \[ \|(x_n)_n\|_{w,(s,p)}:=\sup_{\|\varphi\|\leq 1}\|(\varphi(x_n))_{n=1}^\infty\|_{(s,p)}<\infty. \] The space of all Lorentz \(((r,q);(s,p))\)-nuclear \(n\)-homogeneous polynomials from \(E\) to \(F\) is denoted by \({\mathcal P}_{N,((r,q);(s,p))}(^nE;F)\) and endowed with \[ \|P\|_{N,((r,q);(s,p))}=\inf \|(\lambda_j)_{j=1}^\infty \|_{(r,q)}\|(\varphi_j)_{j=1}^\infty\|_{w,(s',p')}^n\|(y_j)_{j=1}^\infty\|_\infty, \] that is proved to be a quasi-norm (the infimum is taken over all representations of \(P\in {\mathcal P}_{N,((r,q);(s,p))}(^nE;F)\)). The authors relate this space to the space \({\mathcal P}_{as((r,q);(s,p))}(^nE;F)\) of Lorentz \(((r,q);(s,p))\)-summing \(n\)-homogeneous polynomials. These polynomials were introduced by the last two authors in [\textit{M. C. Matos} and \textit{D. M. Pellegrino}, Math. Nachr. 283, No.~10, 1409--1427 (2010; Zbl 1217.47039)] as those \(n\)-homogeneous polynomials that map each \((x_j)_j\in \ell_{(s,p)}^w(E)\) to \((P(x_j))_j\in \ell_{(r,q)}(F)\). The main result of the paper under review is that the topological dual of \({\mathcal P}_{N,((r,q);(s,p))}(^nE;F)\) is isomorphic to the space \({\mathcal P}_{as((r',q');(s',p'))}(^nE';F')\), provided that \(E'\) has the bounded approximation property. It is worth mentioning that the paper ends with a research proposal on what is called `a natural continuation of this paper'. It mainly deals with the definition of the spaces of entire functions of Lorentz \(((r,q));(s,p))-\)nuclear bounded type to get duality results and applications to the study of the existence and approximation results for convolution equations.
