The development of this research material discusses an interesting intersection of the general Čech theory and the theory of derived categories, namely, the cohomology theory of sheaf complexes for open embeddings of topological spaces and related subjects. More specifically, the author presented demonstrations, from two viewpoints, for the following theorem: Theorem (Relative de Rham-type theorem). ``Suppose \(X\) and \(X'\) are paracompact. Then, for any fine resolution \(0 \to \mathcal{S} \to \mathcal{K}^{\bullet}\) of a sheaf \(\mathcal{S} \) on \(X\) such that each \(\mathcal{K}^{q} | _{X'}\) is fine, there is a canonical isomorphism: \[ H^{q}_{D_\mathcal{K}} (X,X') \simeq H^{q}(X, X'; \mathcal{S})." \] Such demonstrations are based on the following viewpoints: While the first proof is a little abstract, the second proof, which is for fine resolutions, employs coverings and is more direct, in any case the cohomology \(H^{q}_{D_\mathcal{K}} (X,X')\) goes well with derived functors. Furthermore, the above theorem is generalized to the case of cohomology for sheaf morphisms. In particular, the strategy is to present a systematical way of representing the cohomology via soft or fine resolutions and to establish various canonical isomorphisms. To achieve these objectives, the author, in a very well organized way, explained the following topics: cohomologies of sheaf complexes for open embeddings and via flabby resolutions, as well as the usual Čech cohomology theory for sheaves, Čech cohomology of sheaf complexes, Čech cohomology on paracompact spaces, complexes of fine sheaves, relative cohomology for the sections of a sheaf complex and relation with derived functors, Category of complexes and co-mapping cones. Particularly notable is the application of the Dolbeault complex case to the Sato hyperfunction theory and other problems in algebraic analysis.
