The problem under consideration is the eigenvalue problem \[ K\phi=\lambda\phi,\quad \|\phi\|=1,\quad\lambda\neq 0, \] where \(K\) is a compact linear integral operator in a Banach space \(X\). The authors' investigation starts from the standard projection scheme based on introduction of a sequence of linear subspaces \(X_n\subset{X}\) and of the corresponding sequence of projection operators \(P_n\). Instead of the standard approximation of \(K\) by \(P_n K P_n\) they propose the approximation of \(K\) by \(K^M_n=P_n K_n P_n+(I-P_n)K_n P_n+P_n K (I-P_n)\), which is called multi-projection operator. Here \(K_n\) are bounded linear operators. The proposed method has a super-convergence property for Galerkin and collocation versions. Numerical examples are presented.
