Let \(X\) be a Banach space over \(\mathbb{C}\), \(C^n(I,X)\) be the space of all \(n\) times strongly continuous differentiable mappings from \(I\) to \(X\). The authors obtain a result on the stability in Aoki-Rassias sense of the linear differential equation with constant coefficients \[ y^{(n)}(x)-\sum_{j=0}^{n-1}a_jy^{(j)}(x)=f(x), \;\;x\in I=(a,b)\subset\mathbb{R}, \tag{1} \] where \(a_0,\dots,a_{n-1}\in\mathbb{C}\), \(f\in C^0(I,X)\). Let \(\varphi: I\to[0,\infty)\) be a given mapping. Equation (1) is said to be stable in Aoki-Rassias sense if there is a mapping a \(\psi: I\to[0,\infty)\) such that, for every function \(y\in C^n(I,X)\) satisfying the relation \[ \left\|y^{(n)}(x)-\sum_{j=0}^{n-1}a_jy^{(j)}(x)-f(x)\right\|\leq\varphi(x) \quad \forall x\in I, \] there exists a solution \(u\in C^n(I,X)\) of equation (1) such that \(\|y(x)-u(x)\|\leq\psi(x)\) for all \(x\in I\). In the case when \(\varphi\equiv\delta\) and \(\psi\equiv\epsilon\) are constant mappings, equation (1) is called stable in Hyers-Ulam sense. In particular, the authors show that the linear equation (1) is stable in Hyers-Ulam sense if all roots of the characteristic equation have nonzero real parts.
