Let \(p\) be a prime, \(n\) a positive integer, \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\) denote the finite field with \(p^n\) elements, and \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}^*\) denote the multiplicative group of \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\). A polynomial \(f\in \mathbb{F}_{p^n}[x]\) is called a \textit{permutation polynomial} (PP) of \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\) if the associated mapping \(x\mapsto f(x)\) from \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\) to \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\) is a permutation of \(\mathbb{F}_{p^n}\). Permutation polynomials over finite fields have important applications in Coding Theory, Cryptography, Finite Geometry, Combinatorics and Computer Science, and among other fields. In the paper under review, the authors investigate the permutation behaviour of polynomials of the form \(b(x^{p^m}+ax+\delta)^s-ax\) over \(\mathbb{F}_{p^{2m}}\) by employing the Akbary-Ghioca-Wang criterion, where \(b\in \mathbb{F}_{p^{m}}^*\), \(a,\delta \in \mathbb{F}_{p^{2m}}\) with \(a^{q+1}=1\). As a result, the authors present several classes of permutation polynomials of the form \(b(x^{^{2^m}}+ax+\delta)^s+ax\) over \(\mathbb{F}_{2^{2m}}\) and three classes of permutation polynomials of the form \(b(x^{^{p^m}}-x+\delta)^s+x\) over \(\mathbb{F}_{p^{2m}}\) with infinitely many odd primes \(p\).
