In the paper [\textit{K. H. Dovermann} et al., J. Reine Angew. Math. 448, 31--64 (1994; Zbl 0787.57016)], the authors conjectured that, for a compact Lie group \(G\), every closed smooth \(G\)-manifold has a strongly algebraic model. The principal result of the paper under review is that, for a finite cyclic group \(G\), every closed smooth \(G\)-manifold \(M\) has a strongly algebraic model \(X\). This means that \(X\) is a nonsingular real algebraic \(G\)-variety that is equivariantly diffeomorphic to \(M\), and all \(G\)-vector bundles over \(X\) are classified, up to equivariant homotopy, by entire rational maps to equivariant Grassmannians with their canonical algebraic structure.
