Mixed moments and the joint distribution of random groups (Q6187300)

The author studies the joint distribution of random abelian and non-abelian groups. In the abelian case, the author proves several universality results for the joint distribution of the multiple cokernels for random \(p\)-adic matrices. In the non-abelian case, the author computes the joint distribution of random groups given by the quotients of the free profinite group by random relations. In both cases, there are generalizations of classical results on the distribution of the cokernels of random \(p\)-adic matrices and random groups. The main arguments are inspired by some new concepts of probabilistic group theory (also studied by Wood, Sawin, Nguyen and Van Peski in recent works in the references of the paper under review).
