For the sequence \(\{K_n:=\mathbb{Q}(\zeta_n,a^{1/n})\}_{n\geq 1}\) we let \(\tau_{a}(p)\) be the number of positive integers \(n\) such that \(p\) splits completely in \(K_n/\mathbb{Q}\). The Titchmarsh divisor problem attached to a Kummer family concerns the behaviour of \(\sum_{p\leq x}\tau_a(p)\) as \(x\to\infty\). Under the assumption of the generalized Riemann hypothesis for the Dedekind zeta function of \(K_n/\mathbb{Q}\) for \(n\geq 1\), \textit{A. T. Felix} et al. [Int. J. Number Theory 8, No. 7, 1687--1723 (2012; Zbl 1264.11084)] proved that \(\sum_{p\leq x}\tau_a(p)\sim C \int_2^x \frac{1}{\log t}dt\), where the constant \(C\) is given by \(C=\sum_{n\geq1}1/[K_n:\mathbb{Q}]\). In the paper under review, the authors provide an adaptation of the character sums method given by \textit{H. W. Lenstra} et al. [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 157, 489--511 (2014; Zbl 1353.11104)] to obtain a general result on the product expressions for the sums in the form \(\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}g(n)/\#G(n)\) in which \(g(n)\) is a multiplicative arithmetic function and \(\{G(n)\}\) is a certain family of Galois groups. As an application, they provide an Euler product expression for the above mentioned constant \(C\). The authors pose an open problem covering the classical Artin conjecture and the Titchmarsh divisor problem for a Kummer family.
