Let \(G\) be a finite group of order \(n\), \(d(n)\) the number of divisor of \(n\) and \(\mathfrak{s}(G)\) the number of subgroups of \(G\).An elementary argument shows that, if \(G\) is cyclic, then \(\mathfrak{s}(G)=d(n)\). Lower bounds of \(\mathfrak{s}(G)\) as a function of \(d(n)\) were proved by \textit{S. Aivazidis} and \textit{T. Müller}, in [Arch. Math. 114, No. 1, 13--17 (2020; Zbl 1445.20014)], in the case of \(n=p^{\lambda}\), \(p\) a prime number. In this paper, the authors generalize the results mentioned above to nilpotent groups.
