The author studies reaction-diffusion systems of two coupled equations of activator-inhibitor or substrate-depletion type subject to the so-called Turing's diffusion-driven instability whenever considered along with mixed Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. Various bifurcation phenomena are described in terms of the linearization matrix of the nonlinear perturbation and under the presence of generalized Signorini type boundary conditions involving inclusions (or some nonlocal integral conditions) representing obstacles. It is shown for instance that such obstacles create bifurcations of spatially non-homogeneous steady states in a parameter space where the trivial solution is exponentially stable (if considered without obstacles).
