Let \(\mathrm F\) be a finite field and \(G=\mathrm{GL}_{2n}(\mathrm F)\). Consider the Levi decomposition of the \((n,n)\) parabolic subgroup of \(G\) to be \(P=MN\), with \(M=\mathrm{GL}_n(F)\times\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathrm F)\) and \(N\cong \mathrm M_n(\mathrm F)\). Taking into account the fact that any character of \(N\) is of the form \(\psi_A(X)=\psi_{0}(\mathrm{Tr}(AX))\), for some \(A\in\mathrm M_n(\mathrm F)\) and a character \(\psi_0\) of \(\mathrm F\), the group \(\mathrm {GL}_n(\mathrm F)\times \mathrm{GL}_n(\mathrm F)\) acts on the set of characters of \(\mathrm M_n(\mathrm F)\) by \((g_1,g_2)\cdot \psi_A=\psi_{g_2^{-1}Ag_1}\). This action decomposes the set of characters of \(\mathrm M_n(\mathrm F)\) into disjoint orbits and a set of representatives of the orbits under this action is given by \(\left\{A_d=\begin{pmatrix} I_d & 0\\ 0 & 0 \end{pmatrix}\right\}\cup\{0_n\}\), where \(I_d\) is the identity matrix in \(\mathrm {GL}_d(\mathrm F)\) for \(1\leq d\leq n\) and \(0_n\) is the zero matrix of \(\mathrm M _n(\mathrm F)\). If \(\pi\) is an irreducible cuspidal representation of \(\mathrm{GL}_{2n}(\mathrm F)\), an explicit description of \(\pi_{N,\psi_{A_n}}\) as a module for \(M_{\psi_{A_n}}\) has been given in the work of \textit{D. Prasad} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2000, No. 11, 579--595 (2000; Zbl 0983.22014)]. In earlier work [New York J. Math. 29, 874--910 (2023; Zbl 1523.20087)], the authors have described \(\pi_{N,\psi_{A_1}}\) as an \(M_{\psi_{A_1}}\) module in case \(n=3\). The paper under review continues to work with \(n=3\) and draws results on the structure of the twisted Jacquet module \(\pi_{N,\psi_{A_2}}\). The methods involve: (1) computing the character values of \(\pi_{N,\psi_{A_2}}\) at any element of \(M_{\psi_{A_2}}\), and (2) recognizing specific representations and determining their multiplicities within the decomposition of \(\pi_{N,\psi_{A_2}}\).
