A static spacetime in general relativity is a \(4\)-dimensional manifold \(N = M \times \mathbb{R}\) with the metric \(\tilde{g} =-f^2dt^2 + g\) satisfying Einstein's field equations. If the energy-momentum tensor vanishes, then \(f\) is a solution of the equation \[ \nabla^2 f -(\Delta f)g-f\mathrm{Ric}_{g} = 0 \ . \] A metric \(g\) is called static on a three-dimensional manifold \(M\) if there exists a nontrivial function \(f\) which is called static potential satisfying the above equation. This paper studies the asymptotic expansion of static potentials on asymptotically hyperbolic \(3\)-manifolds.
