This paper studies spacelike hypersurfaces with prescribed \(\sigma_{k}\)-curvature in Minkowski space \(\mathbb{R}^{n,1}\). Here, the \(\sigma_{k}\)-curvature is the \(k\)-th elementary symmetric polynomial in the principal curvatures of the hypersurface. Recall that a spacelike hypersurfaces is locally the graph of a function \(u:\mathbb{R}^{n} \to \mathbb{R}\) with \(|Du|<1\). The authors prove that for a wide class of functions \(\varphi \in C^{2}(S^{n-1})\) and \(\Psi(X, \nu) \in C^2(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\times \mathbb{H}^{n})\), there exists a unique, entire, strictly convex, spacelike hypersurface \(M_u\), which is the graph of a function \(u\) satisfying \(\sigma_{k}(M_{u}) = \Psi((x,u(x), (Du,1))\) and \(u(x) \to |x| + \varphi(x/|x|)\) as \(|x|\to\infty\). In addition, they obtain the existence and uniqueness of entire, strictly convex, downward translating solitons with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity for \(\sigma_{k}\)-curvature flow equations.
