The initial value problem \(v'_t(t,x)=0.5\Delta v(t,x)-V_\xi(x) v(t,x)\), \((t,x) \in (0,\infty)\times \mathbb{R}^d\), \(v(0,x)=\delta(x-x_0)\) of the heat equation with a random potential is considered. Here, \(\Delta\) is the Laplacian and \(V_\xi(x)=\sum_{q \in \mathbb{Z}^d}u(x-q-\xi_q)\) is a random potential with \(\xi=(\xi_q)_{q \in \mathbb{Z}^d}\) a collection of identically distributed random vectors. It is assumed that (i) \(u(x)=C_0|x|^{-\alpha}(1+o(1))\) as \(|x| \to \infty\) for some \(\alpha> d\) and \(C_0>0\); (ii) each \(\xi_q\) has the explicit distribution \(P_\theta(\xi_q \in dx)=Z^{-1}(d,\theta) \sum_{p \in \mathbb{Z}^d}\exp(-|p|^d)\delta_p(dx)\) for some \(\theta>0\) and normalizing constant \(Z(d,\theta)\). Let \(v_\xi(t,x_0)=\int_{\mathbb{R}^d} v_\xi(t,x,x_0) dx\) denote the total mass of the solution to the considered equation. In the article, the asymptotics of \(\log E_\theta[v_\xi(t,x_0)]\) is obtained. The results show that the total mass of the solution concentrates on a small set in the space of configuration.
