The authors analyze the Hölder continuity of absolutely continuous spectral measures of (one-frequency) quasiperiodic Schrödinger operators \(H=H_{\lambda v,\alpha ,\theta }\) defined on \(\ell ^{2}(\mathbb{Z}) \), \[ (Hu)n=u_{n+1}+u_{n-1}+\lambda v(\theta +n\alpha )u_{n}, \] where \(v\) is the potential, \(\lambda \in\mathbb{R}\) is the coupling constant, \(\alpha \in\mathbb{R}\setminus\mathbb{Q}\) is the frequency and \(\theta \in\mathbb{R} \) is the phase. A central example is given by the almost Mathieu operator, when \(v(x)=2cos(2\pi x)\). It is assumed that the frequency \(\alpha \) to be Diophantine in the usual sense, and \(v\) analytic. The paper deals with the regularity of spectral measures. Let \(f\in \ell ^{2}( \mathbb{Z}) \)with \(\| f\| =1\), and \(\mu_{\lambda v,\alpha ,\theta}^{f}=\mu_{\lambda v,\alpha ,\theta }^{f}\), be the associated spectral measure. The authors establish sharp results on the modulus of continuity of the distribution of the spectral measure for \(\{H_{\lambda v,\alpha ,\theta }\}_{\lambda \in\mathbb{R}}\) Schrödinger operators with Diophantine frequencies in the region of absolutely continuous spectrum. Firstly, the following result is given for small potentials. Theorem 1.1.\ For every \(v\in C^{\omega }(\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z},\mathbb{R}\)), there exists \(\lambda _{0}=\lambda _{0}(v)>0\) such that, if \(|\lambda |<\lambda _{0}\) and \(\alpha \) is Diophantine, then \(\mu_{\lambda v,\alpha ,\theta }^{f}(J)\leq C(\alpha ,\lambda v)|J|^{1/2}\| f\| _{\ell ^{1}}^{2}\) for all intervals \(J\) and all \(\theta\). For the almost Mathieu operator, one can take \(\lambda _{0}=1\). For the properties of absolutely continuous spectral measures of ergodic operators, the following result is obtained. Theorem 1.2.\ Let \(v\in C^{\omega }(\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z},\mathbb{R})\) and let \(\alpha \) be Diophantine. Then, for any almost reducible energy \( E\in \Sigma _{v,\alpha }\) (thus, for a.e.\ energy in \(\Sigma _{v,\alpha }^{ac}\)), there exists \(C,\varepsilon >0\) such that, if \(J\subset (E-\varepsilon , \) \(E+\varepsilon )\) is an interval, then, for all \(\theta\), one has \(\mu_{\lambda v,\alpha ,\theta }^{f}(J)\leq C(\alpha ,\lambda v)|J|^{1/2}\| f\| _{\ell ^{1}}^{2}\). Also, an estimate is obtained for regularity of the spectral measures at good energies.
