Let \(f:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) be a function. It is called linearly independent if the pairs \((x,f(x))\) form a linearly independent subset of the plain \(\mathbb{R}^2\) over the rationals, and it is called a Hamel function (HF) if the previous pairs form a Hamel basis. The authors deal with the composition and the sequences of such type of functions. They prove in the second section that there exists an HF which is a bijection as well and every function can be expressed as a composition of three HFs. In the third section, they examine sequences of such functions. In the fourth section, they consider the products of HFs and their connections to algebraic operations. Finally, they pose some open problems on the continuity points of HFs.
