The main theorem in this paper gives explicit equations for the Chow and Hilbert quotients of a projective scheme by the action of an algebraic torus. Applications include providing a GIT description of these quotients as well as giving equations for the moduli space of stable genus zero \(n\)-pointed curves as a smooth toric variety defined via tropical methods. The paper is very thorough and includes numerous useful examples. It includes the necessary tools and definitions from toric varieties, tropical geometry, and Chow and Hilbert quotients and the authors conclude with several open questions. The paper is well-written and should be of interest to a variety of researches in algebraic geometry.
