For the subclasses: the ideal \(F(X)\) of finite rank operators, the ideal \(\bar F(X)\) of approximable operators, the ideal \(K(X)\) of compact operators, the ideal \(S(X)\) of operators \(T\) in \(B(X)\) such that there exists no subspace \(M\) so that the restriction \(T:M\to X\) of \(T\) to \(M\) is an isomorphism, the ideal \(S^c(X)\) of strictly cosingular operators, the ideal \(J(X)\) of inessential operators such that \(T+S\) are Fredholm, the class \(R(X)\) of Riesz operators, such that the essential spectrum of \(T\) is the set \(\{0\} \), there are the relations \[ B(X) \supseteq R(X) \supseteq J(X) \supseteq {S(X)\atop S^c(X)} \supseteq K(X) \supseteq \bar{F}(X) \supseteq F(X). \] The authors compute the \(K\)-groups (Theorem 2.13): Let \(X\) be a Banach space and let \(A(X)\) be a closed operator ideal obtained in the class of Riesz operators such as \(\bar{F}(X)\), \(K(X)\), \(S(X)\), \(S^c(X)\), \(J(X)\), then \(K_0(A(X)) = \mathbb Z\), \(K_1(A(X)) = \{0\}.\) Based on these results, the \(K\)-groups of the operator algebras \(HD_n\) and \(QD_n\) spaces are computed.
