A new \(C^*\)-algebra denoted by \(C^*_r(G_0)\) associated to any tiling with finite local complexity was introduced by \textit{D. Gonçalves} [J. Oper. Theory 57, No.~2, 391--407 (2007; Zbl 1164.46038)]. It is shown in the present paper how to compute the K-theory groups of the \(C^*\)-algebra, in the case of tilings of \(\mathbb R\) or \(\mathbb R^2\), to conclude that, in the one-dimensional case, the \(K_0\)-group is torsion free, for example, for the Thue-Morse tiling. Next, in the one-dimensional case, the positive cone of the \(K_0\)-group of the \(C^*\)-algebra is characterized. Also computed is the K-theory of the inductive limit \(C^*\)-algebra associated to a tiling of \(\mathbb R^d\), with the K-theory groups of building block \(C^*\)-algebras isomorphic to \(K_*(C^*_r(G_0))\). Furthermore, as examples are given the Fibonacci tiling as a one-dimensional case, and its inductive limit case, and the octagonal tiling and the table tiling as two-dimensional cases, and their inductive limit cases, with the associated \(C^*\)-algebra K-theory groups torsion free and with torsion, respectively.
