The paper is motivated by [\textit{J. Henderson} and \textit{L. Jackson}, J. Differ. Equations 48, 373--385 (1983; Zbl 0511.34010)], where relationships between the existence of a solution for \(2\)-point and \(n\)-point conjugate boundary value problems for the \(n\)-th order nonlinear ordinary differential equation \[ y^{(n)}=f(x,y,y',\dots,y^{(n-1)}), \quad a<x<b, \] have been established. Here, the author gives two types of results for the same equation, but considering the following \((k+2)\)-point nonlocal boundary conditions \[ \begin{aligned} y^{(i-1)}(x_j)&=y_{ij},\quad 1\leq i\leq m_j, \quad 1\leq j\leq k,\\ y(x_{k+1})-y(x_{k+2})&=y_n,\end{aligned} \] with \(1\leq k\leq n-1\), \(a<x_1<x_2<\cdots< x_{k+1} <x_{k+2}<b\), \(m_1+\cdots+m_k=n-1\), and \(y_{ij},y_n\in {\mathbb R}\) for \(1\leq i\leq m_j\), \(1\leq j\leq k\). Firstly, sufficient conditions are derived under which the existence of at most one solution for the \((k+2)\)-point nonlocal boundary value problems yields the existence of at most one solution for the \((h+2)\)-point boundary value problems, for each \(h<k\). Secondly, sufficient conditions are given under which the existence of a solution of the \(4\)-point nonlocal boundary value problem \((k=2)\) yields the existence of solutions of the \((k+2)\)-point boundary value problems, for all \(1\leq k \leq n-1\).
