Consider an arbitrary differential operator \(L\) induced by the differential operation \[ lu=u''+p_1(x)u'+q_1(x)u,\quad x\in G=(0,1), \] on the class \(D\) of functions that, together with their first derivatives, are absolutely continuous on \(\overline G=[0,1]\); \[ p_1(z)\in{\mathcal G},{\mathcal C}),\quad s\geq1,\quad q_1(x)\in{\mathcal L}(G,{\mathcal C}). \] We consider the problem on the convergence rate of biorthogonal expansions of functions in systems of root functions. These expansions are compared with expansions of the same functions in Fourier trigonometric series in an integral or uniform metric on any interior compact subset of the main interval. We find the dependence of the equiconvergence rate of the resulting expansions on the distance from the compact set to the boundary of the interval, on the coefficients of the differential operation, and on the presence of infinitely many associated functions in the system of root functions.
