In the present paper the author proposes relative (with respect to a class of regular epimorphisms) versions of the so-called old and new style axioms for semi-abelian categories (Definitions 3.5 and 3.8). In the main result (Theorem 3.10) he proved the equivalence of these two sets of axioms.
