A log del Pezzo surface is a projective surface \(X/\mathbb{C}\) with at most quotient singular points such that \(-K_X\) is ample. It is known that \(X\) is a rational surface. There are many important papers dealing with these surfaces. The smallest integer \(n\) such that \(nK_X\) is a Cartier divisor is called the Cartier index of \(X\). The rank of the Picard group of \(X\) is called the rank of \(X\). In this paper \(X\) is assumed to have only one singular point \(x_0\), \(f:\widetilde X\to X\) the minimal resolution of singularities, \(D\) the exceptional divisor for \(f\). The author assumes that rank of \(X\) is 2 and Cartier index 3. It is proved that there is a cantraction \(X\to Y\) of an irreducible curve \(C\) on \(X\) such that \(Y\) is a log del Pezzo surface of rank 1. Further, the proper transfer \(C'\) of \(C\) on \(\widetilde X\) is a \((-1)\)-curve. The weighted dual graph \(C'+ D\) is one of the 29 configurations, each of which is realizable.
