Let D and \(D'\) be bounded domains in \({\mathbb{C}}^ n\), and let F be a proper holomorphic mapping of D into \(D'\), where ``proper'' means that \(F^{-1}(K)\) is compact in D for each compact subset K of \(D'\). There are by now several positive results which give a complete description of the boundary regularity of F in terms of \(\partial D\) and \(\partial D'\). This is mainly so for domains that satisfy the so-called ``condition-R'' which is a regularity condition on the Bergman projector. The author studies the existence of such F when D and \(D'\) belong to a class of nonsmooth pseudoconvex Reinhardt domains with center on the boundary. The domains in this class do not satisfy condition-R, and for \(n=2\) the Hartogs triangle \(\{(z,w)\in {\mathbb{C}}^ 2:\;| z| <| w| <1\}\) is a member of this class. Some explicit expressions for these mappings are also given.
