The author calls a non-compact Riemannian manifold \((M^n,G)\) asymptotically hyperbolic (AH) if a neighbourhood of infinity is isometric to \(]R,\infty[_r\times S\), \(S\) compact, and the metric is a long-range perturbation \(dr^2+e^{2r}g(r)\) of a hyperbolic metric \(dr^2+e^{2r}g\). The main result, Theorem~1.2, is a local-in-time Strichartz estimate for the Schrödinger evolution operator \(e^{it\Delta_G}\), where \(\Delta_G\) is the Laplace-Beltrami operator associated to the metric: There exists \(\chi\in C_0^\infty(M)\), \(\chi\equiv 1\) on a sufficiently large compact set, such that, if \(2/p+n/q=n/2\), \(p\geq 2\), and \((p,q)\neq(2,\infty)\), \[ \|(1-\chi)e^{it\Delta_G}u_0\|_{L^p([0,1];L^q(M,dG)} \lesssim \|u_0\|_{L^2(M,dG)}. \] This is called an estimate without loss, where a loss would mean that the \(L^2\)-norm had to be replaced by an \(H^s\)-norm with some \(s>0\). Moreover, under a non-trapping assumption, the cutoff \(\chi\) can be removed, i.e., there is a global-in-space estimate without loss. The result is an AH analogue of that proved in [\textit{J.-M. Bouclet} and \textit{N. Tzvetkov}, Am. J. Math. 129, No. 6, 1565--1609 (2007; Zbl 1154.35077)] for the asymptotically Euclidean case. The proof uses a parametrix construction of Isozaki-Kitada type for (strongly) incoming and outgoing areas. In addition, and this is different from the Euclidean case, there is an intermediate area. The effect of negative curvature on geodesics is used to obtain a dispersion estimate for the intermediate region.
