The authors construct an embedding of a pair of 2-dimensional superconformal vertex algebras in the space of global sections of the twisted chiral-anti-chiral de Rham complex of a generalized Calabi-Yau manifold including then case when there is a non-trivial flux and non-vanishing dilaton. The four corresponding BRST charges are known to be well defined on any generalized Kähler manifold, which allows them to consider the notion of a half-twisted model defining the chiral de Rham complex of a general Kähler manifold. The classical limit of this construction permits them to obtain the generalized Kähler identities as the degree zero part of an infinite Lie superalgebra attached to any generalized Kähler manifold. The authors conclude by investigating the properties of generalized Calabi-Yau manifolds in a Lie algebroid setting. Contents include: Introduction; Preliminaries on SUSY vertex algebra; Preliminaries in geometry; Sheaves of vertex algebras; Bi-Hermitian setup; Unimodularity as twisted Ricci-flatness; 2-dimensional superconformal structure; Half-twisted model; Discussion; an Appendix: SUSY conformal algebras; and References (28 items).
