In the earlier paper [Can. J. Math. 62, No. 6, 1340--1386 (2010; Zbl 1204.22012)] the author has shown how to normalize certain intertwining operators such that they are holomorphic for positive parameters. In the paper under review, she proves in interesting cases that the image of such an operator is either \(0\) or an irreducible representation. As a result, she is able to explicitly compute the residues of Eisenstein series obtained from square-integrable cohomological representations. Finally, she obtains necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of Arthur data for such representations to be cuspidal which was conjectured by her in [Manuscr. Math. 127, No. 4, 411--467 (2008; Zbl 1306.11041)].
