Let \((x;q)_\infty\) denote the infinite product in the title. The author compares this product with \((\iota_q x; q^*)_\infty\), where \(q^*= \exp(-2\pi/\tau)\) and \(\iota_q x= \exp(2\pi i\xi/\tau)\). The ratio \((x; q)_\infty/(\iota_q x; q^*)_\infty\) is expressed in terms of a di-logarithm and a Laplace type integral. This relates \((x;q)_\infty\) to its modular transform \((\iota_q x; q^*)_\infty\) and contains, as special cases, known modular formulae for Dedekind's eta function, Jacobi's theta function, and certain Lambert series.
