Let \(A:=\mathbb F_q[t]\) and \(K_\infty := \mathbb F_q((1/t))\). [\textit{D. S. Thakur}, Function field arithmetic. River Edge, NJ: World Scientific (2004; Zbl 1061.11001)] has introduced multizeta values related to \(A\), taking values in \(K_\infty\). Their definition is as follows. For a nonnegative \(d\) and a positive \(n\) define \(S_d(n) := \sum a^{-n}\), with \(a\) ranging over the monic \(a\in A\) of degree \(d\). If \(s_{1},\cdots, s_{r}\) are positive integers then the multizeta value \(\zeta(s_1,\ldots,s_r)\) is defined as \[ \zeta(s_1,\ldots,s_r)=\sum S_{d_1}(s_1) \cdots S_{d_r}(s_r) \] where the sum ranges over all \((d_i)_i\) with \(d_1 > d_2 > \cdots > d_r\). \textit{D. S. Thakur} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2010, No. 11, 1973--1980 (2010; Zbl 1198.11077)] has shown that product of two such multizeta values can be expressed as a linear combination of multizeta values. In the present paper, the author gives a closed formula expressing the product \(\zeta(n)\zeta(m)\) in terms of multizeta values.
