      This paper belongs to a series of papers which investigate so-called field isomorphism problems, i.e. let \(K\) be a field, \(M \subset K\) and \(f_m \in K[X]\) (\(m \in M\)) be a family of polynomials, indexed by the set \(M\). One wants to characterize all indices \(m \neq n \in M\) such that the splitting fields of \(f_m\) and \(f_n\) over \(K\) coincide. In this paper, the author investigates the family of simplest cubic polynomials over \(\mathbb Z\), given by \[ f_m = X^3 - mX^2 -(m+3)X -1 \in \mathbb Z[X], \quad m \in \mathbb Z. \] To solve the field isomorphism problem for this family one has to find all nontrivial solutions of the cubic Thue equations \[ Y^3 f_m(X/Y) = \lambda \quad \text{with} \quad 0 < \lambda \mid (m^2+3m+9), \] which is done in this paper.
