The pentagram map is a geometrically defined operation on the moduli space of polygons. For polygons inscribed in a conic section, two infinite families of weighted homogeneous polynomial integrals have been constructed in earlier work by the first author [J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 3, No. 2, 379--409 (2008; Zbl 1148.51001)], and here an infinite family of polynomial identities is found for this case. The result was found by, and the proof constructed with the aid of, a computer analysis of the combinatorial structure. In order to facilitate the search for a more geometrical or intuitive proof, the authors give several different definitions of the invariants using combinatorics, geometry, and determinant expressions.
