The authors investigate a multidimensional flow exhibiting a Rovella-like attractor. More precisely, the attractor is a transitive invariant set with a non-Lorenz-like singularity accumulated by regular orbits and a multidimensional non-uniformly expanding invariant direction, and it preserves an SRB measure. The study of singular attractors for flows in higher dimensions is mostly open, and it remains an open problem whether persistent non-robust attractors for singular flows may contain singularities with multidimensional expanding directions. The authors make a significant contribution to the solution of this open problem by proposing a higher-dimensional analogue of the three-dimensional, non-robust Rovella attractor. They also obtain a new class of multidimensional non-uniformly expanding endomorphisms without any uniformly expanding direction.
