For any compact space \(K\) let \(P(K)\) denote the space of Radon probability measures on \(K\). A measure \(\mu\in P(K)\) is said to be countably determined, if there is a countable family \(\mathcal F\) of closed sets such that \(\mu(U)=\sup\{\mu(F):F\subseteq U\) and \(F\in\mathcal F\}\) for every open set \(U\subseteq K\). A compact space \(K\) is said to be Rosenthal compact, if \(K\) can be embedded into the first Baire class functions \(\mathcal B_1(X)\) for some Polish space \(X\). The authors give a partial answer to a question of R.~Pol whether every \(\mu\in P(K)\) is countably determined provided that \(K\) is Rosenthal compact. For a separable metrizable space \(X\) let \(\text{CD}(X)\) denote the class of functions with at most countably many points of discontinuity. The authors prove that, if \(K\subseteq\text{CD}(X)\) is compact, then every measure \(\mu\in P(K)\) is countably determined. They also present an alternative proof of the result of Bourgain stating that every Radon measure on a Rosenthal compactum is of countable Maharam type.
