The paper classifies certain Lagrangian submanifolds of complex space forms, i.e. Lagrangian submanifolds of \(\mathbb{C}^n\), \(\mathbb{C}P^n\) (with Fubini-Study metric) and \(\mathbb{C}H^n\) (with the Bergmann metric). The authors introduce the notion of a Lagrangian submanifold with isotropic cubic tensor, defined by the condition that \(\nabla h(v,v,v)\) is independent of \(v\), where \(h\) is the second fundamental form. It is shown that if \(\partial h\) is everywhere nonzero, then a Lagrangian submanifold of a 3-dimensional complex space form has isotropic cubic tensor if and only if it is either congruent to a Withney sphere (in \(\mathbb{C}^3\), \(\mathbb{C}P^3\) or \(\mathbb{C}H^3\)), or to one of the explicitely constructed examples (one example for \(\mathbb{C}^3\), a one-parameter set of examples for \(\mathbb{C}P^3\) and two one-parameter sets of examples for \(\mathbb{C}H^3\)). The authors show that the Whitney spheres in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), \(\mathbb{C}P^n\) and \(\mathbb{C}H^n\) are Lagrangian immersions with isotropic cubic tensor in any dimension. Further, it is shown that isotropic \(n\)-dimensional Lagrangian submanifolds (in the sense that \(\|h(v,v)\|\) is independent of \(v\)) that are \(H\)-umbilical have isotropic cubic tensor for \(n\geq 3\).
