After a special modulus of continuity is defined via a sequence of coefficients which are absolutely summable and sum to zero, approximation estimates are considered. Specifically, the error of approximation of square-integrable functions by approximants from spaces of functions whose Fourier transform is restricted to a certain set \(\Lambda\) containing zero (similar to band-limited functions) is estimated. For this, a Jackson-type estimate using the mentioned modulus of continuity is established. The estimate is universal for any set \(\Lambda\) containing a neighbourhood of zero.
