The author studies the parity of the period lengths of continued fractions of quadratic irrationalities. In particular, it is proved that the parity of the length of the period is invariant of the discriminant of quadratic irrationalities. Unfortunately the results are not compared with classical results of Gauss, Dirichlet and Rédei, see \textit{I.-K. I. Gerasim} [Istor.-Mat. Issled. 32--33, 199--211 (1990; Zbl 0731.01014)] for an extended bibliography on negative Pell's equation.
