The integral equation under investigation \[ u(x)=\int_{{\mathbb R}^n}\frac{u^{\alpha^*-1}(y)}{|y|^t|x-y|^{n-\alpha}} dy \] is equivalent to the fractional order differential equation \((-\Delta)^{\alpha/2}u=|y|^{-t}u^{\alpha^*(t)-1}\) and \(u>0\) in \({\mathbb R}^n\), \(u\in H^{\alpha/2,2}({\mathbb R}^n)\). Here \(0<\alpha<n\), \(0\leq t<\alpha\) and \(\alpha^*(t)=2(n-t)/(n-\alpha)\). The authors show the equivalence of integral and differential equation, prove Steiner- and subsequently radial symmetry of its solutions by the moving plane method and derive their \(C^\infty\) regularity off the origin.
