The authors consider a system defined on a bounded set and governed by the wave equation with space-dependent wave speed. They consider the inverse problem to reconstruct the wave speed from boundary measurements. The method is based upon the computation volumes of domains of influence. The authors propose a method for this computation that leads to quadratic minimization problems that can be solved efficiently after discretization.
